USES of a UHF TV Aerial (Group A - Red)

  • A Grouped UHF TV aerial which covers the lower end UHF and is ideally suited to certain TV Transmitters
  • If correctly selected for a transmitter it will give results:
    • as good as a Grid TV aerial
    • better than from a Wide band contract TV aerial
  • Can be used with a diplixer and VHF TV aerial to pick up UHF / VHF broadcasts

ADVANTAGES of a UHF TV Aerial (Group A - Red)

  • Will give excellent results on Group A UHF transmissions
  • Very low cost compared to a grid TV aerial
  • Can give good results even in very poor reception areas (if correct group).
  • Takes up 30cm of pole space compared to 80cm for a Grid TV aerial, an issue when space is tight on your aerial pole
  • May save on costs by requiring the addition of power units, amplifiers and distribution systems

DISADVANTAGES of a UHF TV Aerial (Group A - Red)

  • Will perform extremely poorly if used on the wrong UHF Group
  • This makes it inflexible if you are unsure which transmitter to use (see transmitter tab for guide)
