Overview & install of the Xoro 8530 HD Satellite Receiver

• Unpack the box
  • Xoro HD Satellite Receiver
    
  • Remote control
• Screw the lead from the satellite dish into the 'LNB in' connection
• Connect the scart or HDMI cable from the back of the box to the TV
  
• Plug in the power lead
• Turn on the power switch on the back on the box
• After 5-6 seconds the box will come on and should automatically switch TV to AV channel.  You may have to select the correct AV input on the TV, especially if connecting using a HDMI cable

How to Find Satellite Channels with Autoscan

• Press the 'Menu' button
• Select the 'Channel Search' menu
• Scroll to the 'Satellite setup' option
• Select 'Satellite Search' -> 'Astra 28.2 E'
• Press 'Blue Button' to start the scan
  • Crypted 'FTA Channels'
  • Press 'Blue Button' again to continue scan
• The box checks for free channels on transponders - takes 5 minutes
• COMPLETE - all the free channels will appear on your channel list

How to Sort & Delete Channels

• Press the 'Menu' button
• Scroll over to the 'Program' Sub-menu
• Scroll to 'program edit'
• Password '000000'
• To Delete
  • Highlight a channel
  • press the Blue button
  • Press 'Ok' button to delete
• To Move
  • Highlight a channel
  • press the Red button
  • Move to new location
  • Press 'Ok' button to move

Back up Channel  List on to a USB Memory Stick

• Press the Menu Button
• Scroll over and select 'Channel Search' Meuu
• Scroll to 'DB Management'
• Select 'Backup to USB' & press ok
• Default name generated for file: e.g. xxxxxx.DBM
  • takes 3-4 seconds

Load Channel List from USB Memory Stick

• Press the Menu Button
• Scroll over and select 'Channel Search' Meuu
• Scroll to 'DB Management'
• Select 'Load from USB'
• Select the latest channel list
• Press 'ok'
• Wait 5-10 seconds and upload will complete
• BOX IS FULLY PROGRAMMED

How to Format an External Hard Drive on the Xoro 8530

AIM: Format an External Hard drive on the Xoro HD Satellite TV Receiver to utilise it's PVR features

Equipment:

• Xoro HRS 8530 Satellite Receiver
• External Hard Drive or memory Stick
  

Steps

• Having added the external hard drive to the receiver
  • Press the menu button
  • Scroll to the USB menu
  • Scroll to the 'PVR Configure' menu
  • Select the 'Format Option
  • Wait as it reads the hard drive and then select FAT32
  • Wait about 20 seconds and it will format the hard drive

This video shows how to add the new channel 5 family of channels, it was done on a Xoro 8530 and the procedure will be exactly the same for tuning in additional channels on this box (Frequency settings may be different)

The first step is to add either a USB key or a Hard drive (it can handle either FAT32 or NTFS).

HOW TO INSTALL A POLISH SATELLITE SYSTEM

LIST OF FREE POLISH CHANNELS

Note: Above are listed the main Free Polish channels. There is in the region of 500 free channels being broadcast from Hotbird covering a huge range of languages such as German, French, Italian etc.

A. How the HD Polish Satellite Kit works

The kit is essentially made up of 3 Parts

1. The satellite dish - which is mounted on south facing wall or chimney and picks up a signal from the Hot Bird 6/8/9 satellite at 13° East
2. The Installation Kit - which consists of 20m of satellite cable, bolts and connectors which is use in both mounting the dish and running a cable from the satellite dish to the satellite receiver
3. HD Satellite Receiver - which is a pre-programmed (see channel list tab) with all the main Polish channels and uses a scart output to connect to the TV

B. But I Already have a satellite Dish

Often customers customers considering buying this system will already have some of the equipment in place so a few guidelines would be if you alrady have:

1. An 80cm satellite dish - you can drop the
   • Satellilte Dish & LNB
   • Satellite Installation Kit 
2. Your have an 80cm satellite dish but you would like to add this to another room, drop the
   • Satellilte Dish & LNB
     • Add in a universal Quad LNB
3. In General a sky 60cm satellite dish is not really large enough

C. Why is it Free ?

Lots of TV channels broadcast their signal for free or unencrypted and this means that you don't need a subscription or have a card to receive those channels. For Example Viva Polish is free music channel with the very best of lovely Polish music.

D. But I want More Channels

If you want to get more than the basic free channels you have must subscribe to a pay per view service. You have 2 options

• Cyfra +  - this system consists of a special Cyfra receiver which comes with a card reading slot and a Cyfra viewing card. Monthly subscription costs from 15 to 40 euro. It is possible to get sports and Movies channels with this service.
• Cyfrowy Polsat - this system consists of a special Polsat Receiver which come with a viewing card. Monthly subscription costs from 15-30 euro. It is possible to get sports and Movie channels on this service but the range of sport is not as good as with Cyfra +.
