Overview

The purpose of this section is to provide a complete users guide for the Mvision HD300 Combo PVR Ready Satellite and Digital Terrestrial TV Receiver.

This Receiver has 2 feeds from:

  • Satellite dish
  • Digital Terrestrial TV UHF aerial



How to install an Mvision HD300 

  1. Unpack the box
  2. Mvision HD300 receiver
  3. Remote control
  4. 3 Pin power plug adaptor
  5. Push the lead from the Aerial into the Aerial inlet
  6. Screw the lead from the satellite dish into the LNB in connection
  7. Connect scart lead from TV to 'TV' out connection on box
  8. Plug in the power lead
  9. Turn on the power switch on the back on the box
  10. After 5-6 seconds the box will come on and should automatically switch TV to AV channel



How to Find Satellite Channels with Autoscan

 

  1. Press the 'Menu' button
  2. Scroll over to the 'Installation' Sub- menu
  3. Select 'Satellite Search' & click 'OK'
  4. From Satellite menu
  5. Scroll over to select Satellite 'Astra 2A/2D'
  6. Search option 'Free only'
  7. Select 'Start Search'
  8. See 'Channel Search Complete' after 1 minute
  9. Press ok to save
  10. Autoscan is now complete !



How to Find Terrestrial Channels with Autoscan

  1. Press the 'Menu' button
  2. Scroll over to the 'Installation' Sub-menu
  3. Select 'Terrestrial Search' & click 'OK'
  4. From Terrestrial menu
  5. If you know the correct transmitter
  6. Select channel e.g. CH61 for Mt. Leinster
  7. Search option: Manual search
  8. If you don't know the correct transmitter
  9. Search option: Automatic search
  10. Select 'Start Search'
  11. See 'Channel Search Complete' after 5-60 seconds
  12. Press ok to save
  13. Autoscan is now complete !



How to sort Channels

  1. Press the 'Menu' button
  2. Select 'Installation' Sub-menu
  3. Use options:
  4. Move
  5. Delete
  6. Press Exit
  7. Are you sure to save ?
  8. Select 'Yes'



How to Program Box with USB

  1. Upload Channel data on to USB stick.
  2. Press the Menu Button
  3. Scroll over and select 'Acessory' Sub-menu
  4. Select 'USB'
  5. Press Green Button to save
  6. Choose data type - 'channel data USB'
  7. File is saved as 'STB_DB.UDB'
  8. Download Data from USB stick
  9. Press the Menu Button
  10. Scroll over and select 'Acessory' Sub-meuu
  11. Select 'USB'
  12. Press 'Select'
  13. Do you want to download new database ?
  14. Press select
  15. Wat 10 seconds and download will complete

 

Upload Channel data on to USB stick.

  1. Press the Menu Button
  2. Scroll over and select 'Acessory' Sub-memu
  3. Select 'USB'
  4. Press Green Button to save
  5. Choose data type - 'channel data USB'
  6. File is saved as 'STB_DB.UDB'

Download Data from USB stick

  1. Press the Menu Button
  2. Scroll over and select 'Acessory' Sub-menu
  3. Select 'USB'
  4. Press 'Select'
  5. Do you want to download new database ?
  6. Press select
  7. Wat 10 seconds and download will complete

Wipe channel data from USB stick

  1. Press the Menu Button
  2. Scroll over and select 'Acessory' Sub-menu
  3. Select 'USB'
  4. Press Yellow button to 'Format'
  5. Do you wish to delete all information ?
  6. Select 'Yes'
  7. Wait 3-4 seconds and add channel data will be gone

 

Why Would a Channel go Missing?

  1. It may have gone off the air i.e. simply gone out of business
    • Solution: None
  2. It may have gone pay-for-view i.e. the signal is now encrypted
    • Solution: None
  3. Channel may have moved to a different frequency
    • Solution: Find new Frequency or Manually Tune in a Channel



Find New Channel Frequency


Look up the channel on www.lyngsat.com

logon to www.lyngsat.com

  • From the Frequency line in the table come over to 73°E-0°E and click on Europe
  • Now select the satellite / group of satellites of interest to you
    • e.g. 28.2°E (Covers ASTRA 2A,2B,2C,2D,EUROBIRD 1)
  • Search for the channel you are interested in, e.g. 'ITV2'
  • Check out the results (Note some channels e.g. Five have Free and Encrpted versions)

Wipe channel data from USB stick

  1. Press the Menu Button
  2. Scroll over and select 'Acessory' Sub-menu
  3. Select 'USB'
  4. Press Yellow button to 'Format'
  5. Do you wish to delete all information ?
  6. Select 'Yes'
  7. Wait 3-4 seconds and add channel data will be gone



How To Manually Tune in a Satellite Channel

  1. Press the 'Menu' button
  2. Scroll over to the 'Installation' Sub-menu
  3. Select 'Satellite Search' & click 'OK'
  4. From Satellite menu
  5. Scroll over to select Satellite 'Astra 2A/2D'
  6. Search option 'One TP'
  7. Select 'Start Search'
  8. See 'Channel Search Complete' after 1 minute
  9. Press ok to save
  10. Autoscan is now complete !



How to Install an external Hard Drive on MVision HD300

 

AIM: Add an external Hard drive to the Mvision HD300 to utilise it's PVR features

Equipment:

  • Mvision HD300
  • External Hard Drive with USB cable

Steps

  1. Unpack the external hard drive for it's packaging.
  2. Power down the MVision receiver
  3. Connect the USB cable to the back of the hard drive enclosure
  4. Connect the hard drive to the back of the mvision box using the available USB port.
  5. Turn on the mvision box.
  6. Press the Menu Button
  7. Scroll over and select 'Acessory' Sub-menu
  8. Select 'USB'
  9. Press Yellow Button to format the hard drive
  10. Would you like to format drive drive - 'YES'
  11. Wait 6-8 seconds and formatting is completed
  12. Press 'Exit' to get out of the Menu
  13. That is it, The Hard drive is fully set up !



How to use PVR function to record on Mvision receiver

 

Having successfully installed the Hard drive onto the Mvision - below is outline the main features that come with having a hard drive added on.

To Pause Live TV on your MVision 

  1. Press the 'Pause' button on the remote control
  2. Time lag will be displayed on screen
  3. To resume play press 'Pause' button again
  4. To return to real time Press 'Stop' button
  5. asked 'Do you want to end time shift'
  6. Select 'Yes'

 

Record a TV programme on your MVision 

  1. Switch to the desired channel
  2. Press the 'Red' button to select for recording
  3. Recording begins
  4. To end recording just press 'Stop' Button
  5. select 'Yes' to confirm you wish to stop

 

Record a TV programme using EPG on your MVision 

  1. Switch to the desired channel
  2. Press the EPG button to bring up upcoming programme guide
  3. Arrow over to the selected Programme
  4. Press the 'Red' button to select for recording
  5. A red circle will appear next to the programmed
  6. When the programme begins the programme will be automatically recorded

 

Play Back a recorded programme on your MVision 

  1. Press 'Play' on the remote control
  2. Brings up the 'Recording File List'
  3. Scroll down to the desired programme
  4. Press 'Select' to play the programme
