USES of Multi LNB Holder4 way

Allows 4 LNBs (each picking up signal from a different satellite) to be mounted on a single satellite dish
- e.g. could be used with an 80cm satellite dish to receive signal from Astra1, Astra 2, Hotbird etc.
Can only be used with a Smart 110cm or similiar design dish as LNB holder actually fits into the feed arm of the dish
Normally used in conjunction with a 4x1 diseqc switch which combines the feed from the 4 LNBs into a single cable

ADVANTAGES of Multi LNB Holder 4 way

Instead of having to use 4 satellite dishes a single dish can be used saving on space and money
LNB holder is secure and resistant to wear
Easy to install or retrofit

DISADVANTAGES of Multi LNB Holder 4 way

Can be difficult to align a satellite dish to pick up from 4 different satellites - experience is needed
Will not work if the satellites are too far away from each other in the sky
Limited to a maximum of 4 satellites
Not as flexible as a motorised dish.

PART 1: How to fit a Multi LNB Holder 4 way to the Dish

It more difficult to install a 4 way Multi-LNB holder than with the 2 or 3 way LNB holders. This is because whereas the 2 or 3 way holder simply clips onto main LNB, the 4 way holde actually attaches to the Dish Arm.

Tools Needed

Small Allen key (comes in Pack)
A small Philips screwdriver

Equipment needed

Smart Universal Satelllite Dish
Up to 4 Universal LNBs (can be Single, Twin or Quad)
Multi LNB Holder 4 way
Possibly a 4x1 Diseqc switch (combines all the LNBs into a single cable)

Procedure

Assemble the Smart Satellite dish as normal but do not put on the normal single LNB holder
Use the small Allen key to loosen the block on the holder
Insert the block into the feed arm of the dish
Slot through the locking bolt to lock the holder onto the dish
Now use a Philips screwdriver to lock to loosen off each of the LNB holder brackets in turn.
It is possible to slide the LNB holders up and down the arm.
