USES of 3 Way Multi LNB Holder

Allows 3 LNBs (each picking up signal from a different satellite) to be mounted on a single satellite dish
- e.g. could be used with an 110cm satellite dish to receiver signal from Astra1 & Astra2 & Hotbird
As the LNB holder clips on the LNB and not the dish it can be used on any Universal satellite dish e.g. Triax, Smart
Normally used in conjunction with a 4x1 Diseqc Switch which combines the feed from the 3 LNBs into a single cable

ADVANTAGES of 3 Way Multi LNB Holder

Instead of having to use 3 satellite dishes, a single dish can be used, saving on space and money
Can be used with Any Universal Satellite dish e.g. Smart, Triax which uses a 40cm diamater LNB
LNB holder is secure and resistant to wear
Easy to install or retrofit

DISADVANTAGES of Multi LNB Holder 3 way

Can be difficult to align a satellite dish to pick up from 3 different satellites - experience is needed
Will not work if the satellites are too far away from each other in the sky
Limited to a maximum of 3 satellites
Not as flexible as a motorised dish

PART 1: How to fit a Multi LNB Holder 3 way to the Dish

It is relatively simple to install a 3 way Multi-LNB holder or indeed to retrofit it to an existing satellite dish which is using a Universal LNB as the holder attaches to the LNB.

Tools Needed

Small Allen key (comes in Pack)

Equipment needed

Universal Satelllite Dish
3 Universal LNBs (can be Single, Twin or Quad)
Multi LNB Holder 3 way
Possibly a 4x1 Diseqc switch (combine output of LNBs into a single cable)

Procedure

Assemble the Satellite dish with a single LNB as normal
Then using the Allen key remove both locking bolts from one of the LNB holding assemblies
Now fit the LNB holder onto the LNB on the dish and use the Allen key to lock holder securely onto the LNB
Repeat steps 2-3 to lock the 2nd LNB onto the holder
Repeat steps 2-3 to lock the 3nd LNB onto the holder
Note it is possible to slide the LNB mounts along the holding bar to increase / deccrease the distance between the LNBs and to angle an offset relative to the satellite dish.
