This Receiver takes its feed from a Satellite dish
How to install a Xoro HD Receiver
Unpack the box
Xoro HD Satellite box
Remote control
Screw the lead from the satellite dish into the 'LNB in' connection
Connect the scart lead from TV to 'TV' connection on box
Plug in the power lead
Turn on the power switch on the back on the box
After 5-6 seconds the box will come on and should automatically switch TV to AV channel
How to Find Satellite Channels with Autoscan
Press the 'Menu' button
Select the 'Channel Search' menu
Scroll to the 'Satellite setup' option
Select 'Satellite Search' -> 'Astra 28.2 E'
Press 'Blue Button' to start the scan
Crypted 'FTA Channels'
Press 'Blue Button' again to continue scan
The box checks for free channels on transponders - takes 5 minutes
COMPLETE - all the free channels will appear on your channel list
How to do a Factory Reset
Press the 'Menu' button
Scroll to the 'System' Sub-menu
Select 'Restore Factory Default'
Password '000000'
Press the 'OK' button
It will delete all channels and bring you to Installation menu
will need to reset language back to English from German

Scroll over to the 'Program' Sub-menu
Scroll to 'program edit'

To Delete
Highlight a channel
press the Blue button
Press 'Ok' button to delete
To Move
Highlight a channel
press the Red button
Move to new location
Press 'Ok' button to move
How to Program Box with USB
Upload Channel data on to USB stick.
Press the Menu Button
Scroll over and select 'Channel Search' Meuu
Scroll to 'DB Management'
Select 'Backup to USB' & press ok
Default name generated for file: e.g. Mas_02_2011.ext.
takes 3-4 seconds
Download Data from USB stick
Press the Menu Button
Scroll over and select 'Channel Search' Meuu
Scroll to 'DB Management'
Select 'Load from USB'
Select the latest channel list
Press 'ok'
Wait 5-10 seconds and download will complete
Box will reboot
BOX IS FULLY REPROGRAMMED
How to Format an external Hard Drive on the Xoro
AIM: Format an external Hard drive on the Xoro HD Satellite TV Receiver to utilise it's PVR features
Equipment:
Xoro HRS 8520 Satellite Receiver
External Hard Drive with USB cable
Steps
Having adde the external hard drive to the receiver
Press the menu button
Scroll to the USB menu
Scroll to the 'PVR Configure' menu
Select the 'Format Option
Wait as it reads hard drive and then select FAT32
Wait about 20 seconds and it will format the hard drive
How to Use the PVR recording Facilities
There is some really great PVR Facilities on this digital terrestrial TV receiver.
The first step is to add either a USB key or a Hard drive (it can handle either FAT32 or NTFS).

Note: Above are listed the main Free Italian channels. There is in the region of 500 free channels being broadcast from Hotbird covering a huge range of languages such as German, French, Polish etc.
A. How the HD Italian Satellite Kit works
The kit is essentially made up of 3 Parts
The satellite dish - which is mounted on south facing wall or chimney and picks up a signal from the Hot Bird 6/8/9 satellite at 13° East
The Installation Kit - which consists of 20m of satellite cable, bolts and connectors which is use in both mounting the dish and running a cable from the satellite dish to the satellite receiver
HD Satellite Receiver - which is a pre-programmed (see channel list tab) with all the main Polish channels and uses a scart output to connect to the TV
B. But I Already have a satellite Dish
Often customers customers considering buying this system will already have some of the equipment in place so a few guidelines would be if you alrady have:

C. Why is it Free ?
Lots of TV channels broadcast their signal for free or unencrypted and this means that you don't need a subscription or have a card to receive those channels. For Example all the main National TV channels in Italy such as Rai 1, Rai 2, are free.
D. But I want More Channels
If you want to get more than the basic free channels you have must subscribe to a pay per view service. You have 2 options
Sky Italia - this system consists of a special Sky receiver which comes with a card reading slot and a Sky viewing card. A Monthly subscription fee applies but gives access to Sports and Movie channels
