USES of HDMI Extender Over Cat5 (50m)

This is a product that has an increasing market driven by a number of factors

  • Max Length: The maximum run you have with a HDMI lead is 20m where this unit allows you acheive 50m with 1080P, more than 50m with 1080i
  • Customise: It is not possible to alter the length of a HDMI lead but CAT5 cable can easily be cut to the required length in the field with basic RJ45 connectors, crimping tool & a roll of CAT5 cable
  • Pre-Cabled: Often customers wish to put their HD Satellite receiver in the a corner unit to feed a Flat screen TV hanging over the fire place. Such a set up may have CAT5 cables pre-wired or it may be possible to pull them through.

What will I need to Buy that does not come with this kit ?

  • You will also clearly need;
    • Ethernet Cables (CAT5 Cable terminated with RJ45s)
    • HDMI Cables (to connect to satellite receiver on one end and TV on the other end)
