DISADVANTAGES of the High Definition Spanish TV Kit
- More expensive than a Standard Definition Satellite Receiver.
- If an additional channel becomes available it must be manually tuned in

A. How the HD Satellite Kit works
The kit is essentially made up of 3 Parts
- The satellite dish - which is mounted on south facing wall or chimney and pick up a signal from the Hot Bird 6/8/9 satellite at 13° East
- The Installation Kit - which consists of 20m of satellite cable, bolts and connectors which is use in both mounting the dish and running a cable from the satellite dish to the satellite receiver
- HD satellite Receiver - which is a pre-programmed (see channel list tab) with all the main Spanish channels and uses a scart output to connect to the TV
B. Which Satellite can I receive Spanish TV from ?
Hot Bird @ 13° East. This is now the main satellite for Spanish TV. Channels being broadcast from this satellite include:
- TVE Internacional, Canal 24 Horas ..... see 'List of Channels' tab for a comprehensive channel list.
C. Is there Any other Satellites which carry Spanish TV
A frustrating feature of getting Spanish TV is that is it complicated by 2 factors:
- Spanish TV is being broadcast from a number of different satellites
- Many of the channels are not free (this is always the way)
So apart from 'Hotbird @ 13° East' the choices are:
- Astra 1 @ 19.2° East: contains channels such as such as Andalucia TV, Canal Canarias ....
- Hispasat @ 30.0° West: contains channels such as Canal Portada, Solidaria TV ....
D. But I Already have a satellite Dish
Often customers customers considering buying this system will already have some of the equipment in place so a few guidelines would be if you alrady have:
- An 80cm satellite dish - you can drop the
- Satellilte Dish & LNB
- Satellite Installation Kit
- Your have an 80cm satellite dish but you would like to add this to another room, drop the
- Satellilte Dish & LNB
- Add in a universal Quad LNB
- In General a sky 60cm satellite dish is not really large enough
E. Why is it Free ?
Some TV channels broadcast their signal for free or unencrypted and this means that you don't need a subscription or have a card to receive those channels.
F. But I want More Spanish hannels
If you want to get more than the basic free channels you have must subscribe to a pay per view service. TVTrade.ie do not stock either of view cards.
