Advantages of 1.5m Cat5 Ethernet Cable

The main advantages are that:

  • the cables are pre-terminated
    • Caves on the time needed to make a cable
    • Don't need to buy the crimping tool & RJ45 connectors
    • Can be sure the wires are correctly wired
  • They come in a range of colours for easy identification
  • They are good quality cables at a low cost

Disadvantages of 1.5m Cat5 Ethernet Cable

The main disadvantages are that:

  • It is not always possible to pull pre-terminated cables through existing ducting or walls
  • The pre-cut lenghts may not exactly match your requirements and may leave slack
  • The longest pre-terminated cable may not be long enough
  • In pure material terms it is more expensive to buy pre-terminated cables than cable & connectors
