Over the June bank holiday weekend you will have noticed that the BBC HD and BBC ONE HD have gone missing from your HD receiver.
The problem is that the symbol rate used to broadcast these channels has changed.
How to tune it back in:
Frequency: 10847
Polarisation: Vertical
Symbol: 23000 (used to be 22000).
When you have added this transponder – you can do a scan just on this Transponder. Doing a full scan without adding the transponder on will not work normally as the transponder will not be on the list of transponders.
Note on some boxes, they will not not differentiate between a symbol rate of 22000 and 23000 and so will not let you add on this new transponder as it sees it as a replica of the existing 10847 frequency. To get around this problem just change the frequency to 10846. It will still pick the BBC HD channels but will be seen as a different transponder.
A pretty common question I am asked by TVTrade.ie customers is do we provide an installing service or can we provide a list of satellite installers. Firstly we do not do installs ourvelves and have been reluctant to recommend installers we do not well as we could not be sure of the quality of their work.
A major part of the problem has been that the satellite installers come in such a range of sizes from skilled life long professionals to weekend chancers. Luckily a new delvelopment in this area has come along to try and create some basic quality guantees to customers in terms of Insurance, Safety training etc.
This is a new venture so the map may not yet be totally comprehensive but it is getting there is a definitely a welcome development if it improves standards within the industry.
Even for those who intend to install the Satellite TV or TV Aerial equipment themselves it is good to know a ISAA approved engineer is there if their services are needed.
We at TV Trade want to give a quick shout out to the lads at the Irish Satellite & Aerial Association (ISAA). They are doing great work in the area of promoting the proper installation & maintenance of Satellite and TV Aerial equipment, both for analogue and digital alike.

I got a phone call today from a customer to say that ITVHD had gone missing from his Edision Argus 2in1 combo satellite receiver about 2 weeks ago and had not come back.
I checked and indeed the channel had gone missing.
I was able to tune it back in using
Channel
Frequency
Polarity
Symbol rate
ITV HD
10936
Vertical
22000
Then I just deleted the old blank version of ITV HD and moved the above channel to the correct slot
