New HD Satellite Receiver Launched

We are please to announce the addition of the Xoro HRS 8520 HD Satellite Receiver to the Tv Trade website.  This Satellite receiver will be replacing the Edision Piccollo as our low cost HD Satellite Receiver in the long term and at 15 euro cheaper, we expect them to fly off the shelves.  We have signed an exclusivity agreement with Xoro, one of the largest electronics makers in Germany and to that end we can offer the best of their products to the Irish market at rock bottom prices.   The beauty of Xoro is that one of their core businesses is actually media players and they integrate this technology into their Satellite Receivers.  This is an amazing feat at the prices we can sell both their Satellite boxes and Digital TV boxes (coming soon) for.   Simply put, Xoro pack the features in at recession busting prices and can’t really be beat.

We announce this on the day we hit the #1 spot on Google Ireland for Satellite Receivers.  Google’s placement of the tvtrade.ie website as #1 has taken much time and effort on our part.  This accolade can not be bought and must be earned. It truely shows how much quality content has been added to our website over time and a thumbs up from an independent source like the big G is a big pat on the back for all our staff.
Keep it up lads.

BBC3 & BBC4 Missing – Where are they?

It’s a common question that we are asked at TV Trade so we said we would do a quick blog post on it.   They actually only start broadcasting at 7pm in the evening, so looking for them during the day isn’t really an option.   They  replace CBBC and Cbeebies at 7PM, so can be found where the BBC childrens channels reside on your satellite receiver.

How to Convert an NTFS to FAT32 File System

After being asked my some customers to do a a video on this, I finally got around to it today.   Basically, some of the satellite receivers that we sell can only handle FAT32 file systems on an external hard drive.   The Xoro 3000 is one that I can think of, off hand.   The vast majority can handle NTFS file systems so this will not affect them, having said that, it’s not a bad thing to know how to do this anyway.

There is an app that you can download from places like download.com called swissknife.   It will allow you fairly easily to format your External Hard Drives from NTFS to FAT32.   You cannot do this in the normal way through windows as any drive larger than 32GB cannot not be formatted to FAT32 in this way.   You can do this through the command prompt but it is very very slow.   Using swissknift is simple and very quick in comparrison to the command prompt.

Anyway, take a look at the video and see how to do it.   Note: the video is best displayed in High Def and full screen so you can see exactly what is going on.   After watching this, you will be able to get the full range of features from your PVR ready Satellite Receivers if they can only handle FAT32 file systems.
