Paying for Sky or UPC Multi Room? There is a Free Alternative

In the current economic climate, more and more people are leaving subscription based TV services and flocking to free to air. The introduction of Saorview has perhaps helped in some way towards this as folks investigate their options and see that they can indeed get both the Irish and UK channels for free with a once off payment and no subscription charges.

One of the things that may have put people off before was that most houses these days have more than 1 television and setting up your own TV Distribution system to send the signals around your home may have seemed daunting.
To that end, we have created Multi Room Kits that contain everything that you could possibly need to complete the job. We have 3 multi room kits available currently (more kit variations to come)…

All of the kits default option is 1 room but the kits are set up in such a way as to let you select up to 4 rooms, more than enough for the average home. All the kits contain everything you need including, connectors, joiners, cable, receivers, distribution amplifers etc.

Make sure also that you click on the downloads tab on the individual product page as it Contains a Wiring Diagram of How to Do a DIY Installation of the Multi Room Kits. You’ll see it’s very DIY-able with a bit of patience and it could save you thousands of Euros over the lifetime of the multi room kit. It’s all part of the service here at TV Trade.

BBC News 24, BBC Parliament, BBC ALBA & BBC Streams Gone Missing

In the week of September 19th to Spetember 25th, BBC will be making changes to a handful of TV channels.   The channels affected will include BBC News 24, BBC parliament, BBC ALBA . The new settings for the channels affected will be as follows…….

  • 10803 H 22000 5/6 BBC News
  • 10788 V 22000 5/6 BBC Parliament
  • 10818 V 22000 5/6 BBC Alba

During the week beginning September 26th, they will also make a frequency change to their ever popular BBC Streams.   The new setting for this is below…

  • 11904 H 27500  BBC Streams

As ever, owners of Freesat boxes will not have to retune.   By doing a power cycle on their box (off/on) the new frequencies will automatically update.

Owners of Free to Air and Combo Receivers will have to perform a small retune if they wish to continue receiving any/all of the above TV channels.

You can see a video of an example of how to re-scan these missing channels in the video below…..

The process is pretty much the exact same on all free to air and combo boxes.
