Depending on the size of your external hard drive and the program that you used to convert from NTFS to FAT32, the size of the drive after the formatting process can be reduced dramatically. For example, a 1TB drive becomes something like a 200-300GB drive. This isn’t desirable at all and you have lost a lot of usable space on the external hard drive. What we have found in our own tests is that generally speaking, if you are to format a drive from NTFS to FAT32, then if the drive is under 500GB, then the process works really well with the vast majority of programs. Once you go above 500GB, then a fair percentage of the time, this problem can rear it’s ugly head. So what can you do? If you look in the above video, you can see how to recover the lost space on your external hard drive and re-convert it to FAT32 from NTFS and get it to recognise the fully capacity of the drive. ************************************************************************************** How to Format / Convert your External Hard Drive from NTFS to FAT32While some of our boxes will recognise both NTFS and FAT32 file systems on an external hard drive, some do not and only work with FAT32. The video above shows how you can easily convert from NTFS to FAT32. This video guide may also be of use to owners of Xbox 360s and PS3s who wish to format an External Hard Drive from NTFS to FAT32. ************************************************************************************** January 20, 2012How to Check & Test your Internet / Broadband SpeedIn this video guide from TV Trade, we show how you can test both the upload speed and download speed of your broadband. A lot of people pay for a certain internet speed from their broadband provider and don’t get anything near what they should. With the launch of Netflix here in Ireland and the UK, it’s important to check your internet connection to ensure maximum performance and a number of customers have asked us to this up this video to cover this. This is a very simple way of testing your broadband speed. Unfortunately, even if you are not getting the broadband speed from your provider that you are paying for, a lot of the time, they can wriggle out of it by simply saying that the broadband speeds that they advertise are maximum speeds. This is true and depending on your contention ratio (number of people who share your line) and peak times of the day, this speed can vary significantly. You are always, where available, better to go for a contention ratio of 1:1, which means you don’t share with anyone and also if you are thinking of streaming films from the likes of apple TV or Netflix, then you are best to go with a provider that has no data cap (you can download as much as you like). We, at TV Trade have a wide selection of Networking equipment including… to help in your netflix viewing. ************************************************************************************** TV Wall Brackets (13 – 65 Inch Swivel & Fixed) – Now in StockAs part of our ever growing product range, we have now added a section for TV Wall Brackets.
